Here are few ideas for reducing membership losses and keeping clubs focused on their members’ needs.
1. Hold educational meetings.
a. always remember that education is the cornerstone of Toastmasters.
b. strive to ensure that every speech is a manual speech.
c. every evaluation is constructive and sincere.
d. involve everyone in every meeting.
2. Set Goals
a. encourage them to share their goals with the club.
b. have your club’s EVP work with members constantly to help them achieve their goals.
3. Recognize achievement
a. Recognize all the achievement the members made.
4. Is the club focused on meeting the need of its members?
a. MVP conduct a membership survey every few months, and be prepared to make adjustments as necessary.
b. Periodically hold discussions about club climate, DCP progress and other club issues.
5. Follow up on absentees
6. Glance in the mirror now and then
7. Make’em laugh
8. Hold club social events
9. Orient new members
10. Assign mentors
set up an effective mentoring program.
11. Challenge your CCs
12. Promote leadership opportunities
13. Promote area, division and district events.
